ABOUT ME

A FEW PERCENT BETTER

As a licensed Physical Therapist (yes, I paid a lot of money and did a lot of school), my job is to help people get back to living their lives without wincing every time they stand up.

Whether its lowering their pain, improving strength, or just teaching folks how to stop hurting themselves at the gym - I'm here for it.

Recovery, much like training, isn't a magical overnight thing. It takes time, consistency, and, unfortunately, actual effort. I remind my patients (and myself to be honest) that the goal is to get just a few percent better every session.
Just like the stock market has green and red days but if you zoom out enough it will always trend upwards. Some days we crush it, some days we just show up, but its all progress at the end of the day.

This same "slow and steady" reality applies to my CrossFit life too - both as someone who suffers through the same workouts that I coach. Progress doesn't magically appear after one WOD (just like eating one salad doesn't make you lose ten pounds).

It doesn't matter how many burpees your cry through or "work to a heavy squat clean" days you do each week - getting better takes time, consistency that isn't nearly as fun as getting a new pair of Nanos (yeah, told you I'm old school CF). But hey, small wins are small wins and that's what these programs build.

I've been coaching for over 10 years, which means I've seen my fair share of athletes - from total beginners crushing their first pull-up to seasoned athletes heroically forgetting how to count reps. One thing's for sure: consistency with a solid program actually works (shocking, I know).

These A Few Percent Better programs? They're straight from my years of programming at CrossFit Covalence. Battle tested, member approved (most of the time, not on the burpee days) and refined over a decade of  watching people do burpees and question their life choices.

They've worked for thousands, and unless you're allergic to progress and effort, they'll work for you too.

Oh, and to keep things interesting, I'm also a medical officer in the Army National Guard - because apparently I hate free time.

I serve on the Kentucky Holistic Health & Fitness Team, where I get to work with an all-star squad of pros who help soldiers stay ready for anything. The H2F Team educates and promotes along the Five Domains: Physical, Mental, Nutrition, Sleep & Spiritual.

With a mix of military grit, physical therapy brains, coaching experience and an unhealthy obsession with helping people perform better, I like to think I bring a one-of-a-kind blend to the table of performance training.

THE GOAL

My goal is to now provide these programs to anyone that is interested in getting A Few Percent Better. Thank you for visiting and please reach out if you don't see any programs that you like. I am always building and designing and would love ideas! Thank you.
